The Torah and Glory Discipleship series–both the Torah Commentary Course and the Torah Discipleship Course, are year long, Yeshua centered, Torah and Holy Spirit based studies. They are carried along by the weekly Parshat reading schedule–which is a year long undertaking also. The courses are designed to instruct and encourage believers in the heavenly sanctioned Apostolic Nazarene faith taught by Messiah Yeshua and His Judean apostles. The goal is to equip such believers in becoming disciples of the Messiah, take as their own His prophetic purpose, and conform to His likeness. Thus the program is grounded in original Hebraic fundamentals, of which (a)  obeying and emulating Yeshua, (b) gaining a foundational understanding of the Torah, and (c) embracing the full ministry of the Holy Spirit, are central. 

The courses differ somewhat but each comprises the 54 parsha lessons that are founded upon the whole Word of God–-the Torah (Pentateuch, the first five books of the Bible), the Tanakh (includes the remaining books of the Old Testament which are also referred to as the Prophets and the Writings). Then there are the apostolic Scriptures (entire New testament or Brit Chadashah). There are five parts to each course: (1) Genesis/B’resheit, (2) exodus/Sh’mot, (3) leviticus/V’yikra, (4) Nunmbers/Bamidbar, and (5) Deuteronomy/D’varim. The courses follow the yearly Torah reading cycle which begins with B’resheit.

In all the lessons presented in the two courses [two courses; ten Manuals] exalt Yeshua and, as stated, emphasize the nature, value, and necessity of living and serving within the full, active ministry of the Holy Spirit of YHWH.  We believe the advance of believers to (a) the study, standards, and principles of the Torah, (b) the fullness of the Holy Spirit’s teaching and leadership ministry, and (c) their Hebraic heritage, will usher the Body of Messiah into greater intimacy and identification with Yeshua, contribute to separating His people from the spirit of the age, and equip us more completely for discipleship and service in these latter days.

The Torah and Glory Discipleship and Commentary courses continually emphasize the call, nature, responsibility,  and blessing of being a bonafide disciple of Yeshua. Fulfilling the one-year course by study and prayer each week will surely result in spiritual growth and transformation.

Discipleship Course. [5 Manuals--average 270 pages.] All lessons of each Course are divided into sections. For instance, the sections in the Torah Discipleship Course are: 1. Introduction: The Call to Discipleship. 2. Weekly Parsha: Torah-the Standard of Discipleship. 3. Yeshua; The High Priest of Discipleship.

4. The Holy Spirit: The Power of Discipleship. 5. Overcoming: The Outcome of Discipleship. 6. Conclusion: Application of the Principles.

Commentary Course. [5 Manuals--average 280 pages.] The sections of each lesson in the Torah Commentary Course are: 1. Introduction: Welcome to the Word–Beatitudes and Alef-Bet. 2. Torah Commentary: includes Weekly Parsha; Haftorah; Yeshua-the Living Torah; the Holy Spirit; 3. Parsha Summary and application of principles; 4. Seven Questions: Answering and Listening for His Word. 5. Conclusion: Prayer, declaring His Word, and blessing the Land and Jerusalem. 6. Conclusion exhortation;  pertinent instructions. 31 pages.

Torah is Foundational to the Study of the Scriptures

As you know, Torah refers to the first five Books of Moses. It is also known as the Pentateuch. The word Torah means “teaching,” “instruction,” or “law.” It’s the first of the three parts of the Hebrew Old Covenant. It is said to contain 613  commandments, called mitzvot, that are divided into 365 restrictions (negative commands; “Thou shalt not” ) and 248 positive commands (“Honor thy father and mother…”).  A sefer Torah is a Torah scroll, a copy that is written under strict conditions on parchment by a trained scribe. Authorship of the Torah is ascribed to Moses by a process of divinely imparted words and inspiration. 

This is supported by the Talmud–a collection of rabbinic writings, teachings, traditions,and oral laws divided into the Mishnah and Gamera–which we do not consider divinely inspired–and textual analysis of the Torah and other books of the old testament. We will place the time circa 1450 BCE at Mount Sinai. Some Jewish mystics declare the Torah was created before the world as it served as its blueprint and sustainer. Is this idea supported by John 1:1? It reads: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The “Word” speaks of pre-incarnate Yeshua (John 1:14; Revelation 19:13) who "became to us the wisdom of God…(1 Corinthians 1:30). The verse better reads: “Who was made unto us [manifested] from God–both righteousness and sanctification and redemption." Understand this! The closer and more intimate is our union and fellowship with Yeshua, the greater will be our wisdom and prophetic vision. This is important! After all, He has shared with us the future and instructed us in preparation for it. How are you responding, dear reader? 

Concerning divine wisdom, it is written: “YHWH possessed me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old. From everlasting I was established…while he had not yet made the earth...when He established the heavens, I was there, when he inscribed a circle on the face of the deep…I was beside him, as a master workman” (Proverbs 8:22-30). Learn: The Stone Edition Chumash states, “...man’s highest privilege and loftiest attainment is in the study of the Torah itself–the light, whereby mortal man unites with the thought and wisdom of God himself.” [pg. xxiv]

The Torah establishes the cultural and religious framework for all Israel. But its truth and principles, such as man’s basic duty to love God and his neighbor (deuteronomy 6), and the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20), indeed have universal application. The Torah has a place in every person’s life. Most Christian believers today observe the Torah to some extent by following the Ten Commandments. However they would do well by returning to the seventh day Sabbath and honoring the feast of Israel–the nation into which Spirit-born saints have been grafted. But, friend, not all of the Torah’s regulations and commandments apply to everyone, you included. Nevertheless, we teach that those who are in covenant with the Almighty through faith in the atoning sacrifice, death, and resurrection of Yeshua the Son, should study the Torah and conform to its applicable truth, principles, and such commandments that are doable and that apply to them. It is written: “If you love Me, keep my commandments” (read John 14:15-31). They begin in Exodus, you know.

Hear His Word

A Primacy: Make hearing His Voice/His Word a priority this year as you read through and answer the Seven Questions found at the end of each lesson.

Learning to be led by the Spirit of Messiah, and hearing and obeying His voice–even the personal rhema word of the Ruach Ha Kodesh [Holy Spirit], is a great life-long and exciting undertaking. Moses prophesied concerning Israel, “...in the latter days you will return to YHWH your Elohim and listen to His voice” (Deuteronomy 4:30). Point: This “listening” is what advancing believers are now doing through the study of His entire Torah and by knowing His Spirit. We should expect our hearts and minds to be awakened and sensitized in this critical hour to His voice, His messaging. Yeshua want to speak to us today concerning the plans He has ordained for His Ecclesia, and give wisdom, joy, strength and wisdom for success in our enterprises. What He wants us to 

know we can revolutionize our lives and labors, and those of others also. May we not fail to recognize His voice, perceive His directions, recognize His leading, and go forward in spiritual warfare successfully. Apathy and spiritual dullness will cause saints to fall from His path and cause a resultant waste of time and resources in pursuing spiritual restoration and our place as warriors and servants. 

In fact, we need the Holy Spirit to speak to us each day–guiding and correcting our life-steps, giving insight, and helping us perceive the depth of His Scriptures even through the Hebraic four levels of interpreting of the Scriptures. Believe and Act: You and I have the Holy Spirit’s guidance, comfort, wisdom, and gifting made available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. John 14:1-31 and 16:1-15. YHWH’s voice is written within us. Therefore, as you begin your yearly Torah reading, listen for and hear His voice each day impressing you deeply. His personal Word will encourage, uplift, and direct you and transform your life. 

A Strong Exhortation: A servant of the Messiah, a true disciple--one making disciples as commanded, simply must be baptized with the Holy Spirit, anointed, and properly equipped with strong faith and knowledge for latter day service. Thus, there is no excuse for bypassing Yeshua’s baptism as most westernized believers do. Do not let the false teachings of messianic or denominational naysayers, or the excessive behavior of Charismatics lead you away from Messiah’s words. “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you” (Acts 1).

Seven Questions–Demanding but very Profitable Hearing Exercises.

The lesson questions are a very important aspect of a disciple’s learning. All energetic readers are encouraged to take the time and include them in their study discipline. They are intended to coax each student to rely upon interaction with the Holy Spirit–the Spirit of Truth, and discern his voice, receive insight, and obtain helpful guidance to the answers. This process will assist every learner to experience and enjoy greater dimensions of the kingdom, power, and glory of Yeshua and recover the power of the Holy Spirit’s full supernatural ministry.
